Dancing in the Moonlight

Story Beats:

  • The group goes on and begins to build themselves up to cover their deficiencies, placing a higher focus on preparation
  • The next full moon rapidly approaches at the end of the month and when the time comes Aizo, Elizabeth, Ilyana, Junko, and Michael go to check out the instructions from the dwarf, arriving at Kingsway Cemetery a few hours before midnight
  • After splitting up, the group comes upon a group of hooded figures as they brutalize the groundskeeper and shortly notice the group afterwards
  • The hooded figures reveal themselves to be cultists of Ilthiylyk and are temporarily led into believing Ilyana is a messenger from their god. When they expect her to kill one of their own as a gift, Junko lets out a shot at their leader, starting a battle
  • Eventually, the cultists are dispatched and a mysterious figure who identifies himself as Daemond showed himself at midnight. He offered the group a deal; Bring the killer to a state where he cannot resist an offer from Daemond and he will provide the group with vital information to track the killer — with the added caveat that one member would die in one year unless the terms were fulfilled
  • Ilyana shakes on the deal with Daemond, leaving a demonic infection on her left arm that will eventually spread to her heart. Daemond gifts the group with an address that he will assure the group will find answers at before vanishing

  • A brief exchange leads into a firefight which almost sees the young group of investigators as the victors. However, near the end, a ghoul announces its presence with an unceremonious slaying of a Stovik goon
